The Athena Development Program is a six-month defensive arms program, designed by Navy SEAL Miguel Yanez, to develop a candidate’s mental and physical ability to identify and ultimately defeat potential threats to themselves or their loved ones.
Our Vision is to be North America’s premier defensive arms development program. Graduates of the program will be prepared to face personal defense challenges with strength of mind and confidence in action.
Our Mission is to provide our students with the most comprehensive, real-world defensive firearms instruction available.
The Athena Development Program, or ADP, is founded on the philosophy that when you combine a distinctive mindset, persona, lifestyle and overall “Team” environment, unique to the Special Operations community, with unrivaled firearms instruction presented in a holistic, disciplined, modular and progressive format, students retain more information and evolve to become highly skilled in defensive arms from both a mental and physical perspective.
The program’s goal is to develop the student’s defensive arm skills from a mental, psychological and physical perspective. Students learn to improve their awareness and to identify and defeat threats in order to protect themselves or their loved ones; should the need ever arise.
ADP provides the rare opportunity to experience instructional methods previously only available to elite Special Operation forces. Veteran instructors such as Navy SEAL, Army Special Forces, British Special Air Service and Special Boat Service share their combat field experience and expertise with the ADP students.
The total cost of the class is $3,600 with all necessary equipment provided for you, excluding ammunition. Pay upfront and you’ll receive a $100 Athena Gun Club gift card. Monthly payment plans are also available.
Ammunition for the program is required to be purchased from Athena Gun Club. ADP students will receive a 10% discount on all ammunition purchases. Ammunition will cost approximately $700, not including tax.
The first week of the 2017 class will begin spring quarter of 2017. Classes will be offered on a weekly basis every Tuesday and Thursday 7-9 p.m. You will be responsible for attending one of these weekly classes with make up classes offered the following week.
Candidates are selected via an application process. Applicants do not need to have any prior training. This is an intense training program and only those willing to commit to the program’s strict regimen, scheduling and defensive lifestyle need apply. We therefore recommend all applicants carefully examine their upcoming obligations so that they may be able to devote their full attention to the program.
