Athena License To Carry
ATHENA LICENSE TO CARRY
The License to Carry (LTC) Program is a 4-6 hour class, mandated by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The LTC class does not teach basic firearm or shooting instruction. If you do not own a handgun, you may rent one from Athena.
Athena LTC program includes:
- State mandated 4-6 hours of instruction and written exam
- Firearm proficiency test
- A completed LTC-100
- Hearing and eye protection
- One box of ammunition (.380ACP, 9MM, .40S&W, .45ACP, or .38SPL) if available

Equipment required:
- Handgun
- A current Texas Driver’s License
- The firearm being used cannot have a laser.
Prerequisite:
Must already be proficient with firearms, we recommend taking our Handgun Essentials Class prior to signing up.
PLEASE NOTE: When signing up for a class, you must sign up ONE PARTICIPANT at a time. Multiple purchases must be done separately. If we do not reach a minimum of six participants for the class, we reserve the right to cancel and reschedule that class at a later date.
Weekday Classes will be a two-day class
All participants must provide a 48-hour notice to reschedule.
All class fees are NON REFUNDABLE and do not include the state application fee. Class completion does not guarantee a License to Carry will be approved. The Texas Department of Public Safety makes the final decision based on their guidelines.

Individuals must be 21 years of age to attend this class, with the exception of Active Duty Military who must be 18 years of age to attend this class.
