LTC Proficiency Test Only
ATHENA LICENSE TO CARRY
Have you finished the online portion for your LTC? If you are looking to complete the Shooting Proficiency Test only, then please call 713-461-5900 to schedule. It is $50 and take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Failure to pass this class does not make you eligible for a refund.
Athena Proficiency Test:
- Firearm Proficiency Test
- Ammo is not included
- The firearm being used can not have a laser optic
LTC PROFICIENCY TEST ONLY
Equipment required:
- Handgun
- A current Texas Driver’s License
- The firearm being used cannot have a laser or optic.
- Must have 50 rounds of ammunition (brass case)
- A physical copy of your LTC 101 form (the online certification of class completion)
Prerequisite:
Must already be proficient with firearms, we recommend taking our Handgun Essentials Class prior to signing up.
All participants must provide a 48-hour notice to reschedule.
All class fees are NON REFUNDABLE and do not include the state application fee. Class completion does not guarantee a License to Carry will be approved. The Texas Department of Public Safety makes the final decision based on their guidelines.

Individuals must be 21 years of age to attend this class, with the exception of Active Duty Military who must be 18 years of age to attend this class.
