Whether you want to refine your shooting skills for sport or hunting, get your License to Carry, or gain the experience and wherewithal to act quickly and decisively in an extreme situation; Athena Gun Club offers the specialized training programs and expert instruction you’re looking for to accomplish your goals. PLEASE NOTE: When signing up for a class, you must sign up ONE PARTICIPANT at a time. Multiple purchases must be done separately.

If for some reason you need to cancel or reschedule your class, please call (713) 461.5900 or email Athena Training at [email protected] 24 hours prior or as soon as possible. If you do not cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled class, class fees are not refundable and you will be charged as if you attended.

FIREARMS RENTAL SAFETY – $25

The Firearms Rental Safety is designed for anyone who has never fired a handgun and want to learn basic safety skills in a fun and safe environment. Guests who are unable to show safety proficiency and want to rent firearms at Athena Gun Club must take this class prior to renting a firearm.

HANDGUN ESSENTIALS – $165

Handgun Essentials is designed to teach you everything you need to own and operate your handgun in a safe manner. We focus on firearm safety rules, grip, stance, sight alignment loading, unloading, and the fundamentals of how to make a firearm safe. If you have just purchased a handgun or have never learned to use your handgun, this is the ideal class for you.

Building on the fundamental skills learned in Handgun Essentials, Handgun Progression is intended for those that own and know how to safely shoot their firearm, but want to improve their marksmanship and firearm manipulation skills. This course will continue to build your confidence and knowledge of firearm manipulation.

RIFLE ESSENTIALS – $165

Rifle Essentials is designed to teach you everything you need to know to own and operate your rifle in a safe manner. We focus on rifle safety rules, how to use your rifle, and how to accurately shoot your firearm. This is a great class for new shooters who want to learn how to use their rifle in multiple applications.

Shotgun Essentials is designed to teach you everything you need to know to own and operate your shotgun in a safe manner. We focus on shotgun safety rules, how the shotgun functions, and how to accurately shoot your firearm. This is the perfect class for anyone who wants to learn how to use their shotgun for self or home defense.

INSTRUCTOR OBSERVATION – $50

Shooters will have the chance to be observed by our NRA-certified instructors. They will be able to assist shooters with any improvements to their techniques and shooting styles, and provide additional instruction in order to improve the shooter’s skills.

During this class you will be put through a mirrored rendition of the actual LTC Shooting Qualification test on range.

DRAWING FROM CONCEALMENT – $165

The Drawing from Concealment Class is for anyone who has a LTC or is looking to get an LTC and wants to carry concealed. This class will show the different ways to carry and how to draw from concealment using those ways of carry.

Different types of holsters that can be used for concealment (OWB, IWB)

holster qual (although if not holster qualified, this class will include the qualification)

Equipment Required:

Firearm, holster, (no SERPA, shoulder or ankle holsters allowed), cover garment (jacket, shirt, vest,etc.)

BASIC GUN CLEANING & MAINTENANCE – $100

Our Basic Gun Cleaning and Maintenance class will teach you the basics of how to clean, service, and maintain your firearm to keep it in good working order. The class will cover how to use the products in the Athena Gun Club cleaning kit and how to maintain the tools in the kit. Each student will take a hands-on approach to cleaning their own personal firearm in a group setting which will help them prolong the life of the firearm and keep their firearm safe and reliable.
